Government data show that people have been
spending more on phone bills over the past four years, even as they have cut
back on dining out, clothes and entertainment—cutbacks that have been keenly
felt in the restaurant, apparel and film industries. According to “The wall
street journal”, more people paid up for $200 smart phones and bills that run
around $100 a month, the average household's annual spending on telephone
services rose to $1,226 in 2011 from $1,110 in 2007. In order to reduce this
cost Sprint has now come up with a
new plan called Sprint Framily plan.
Sprint Framily plan gives the power to the consumer through the
ability to group buy wireless to achieve greater savings. With Sprint Framily, the more individuals in
a group, the more savings each member can realize.
A sprint family consists of multiple phone lines in one account or
lines across different accounts. It can be family members, friends or
acquaintances or all three in one. The customer asks up to nine family members,
friends, and others to join Sprint
and save.Each Sprint Framily member has the ability
to adapt their own plan to meet their unique needs. A family member can buy-up
unlimited data plus get annual upgrades or buy-up to 3GB of data. A family
member can also add tablets or other products to the account (in accordance
with credit policy) without impacting the total number of lines the Sprint Framily has available to each
group.
How does Sprint family work? Each Sprint Framily group is given an
exclusive 11-digit identifier, the Framily ID. All of the accounts within a Sprint Framily group are billed
separately and each member is individually responsible for their bill.
Consumers can buy a new phone with installment billing, with non-discounted
phone pricing, or bring their own Sprint-certified
gadget. The new phone line(s) on the new account can be given to a new Framily
group or join an existing Framily group within 14 days of the first subscriber
activating on the new account. To join an existing group, the individual must
have the Framily ID of existing group. For all Sprint Framily activations, the account holder must consent to
sharing the Framily ID, their participation in the Framily plan, their group
membership status, their name, and the last four digits of their phone
number(s) with the other group members. Any person who has this information can
join the group. An individual may optionally provide a phone number in the
group to ensure it’s the correct group to join. Customers will receive a
Framily ID when they are activated on the new plan and are assigned to a new
group. Additionally, customers can find their Framily ID number by logging into
their My Sprint account on sprint.com, or by Calling Care by
dialing *2 or in person a Sprint
store and signing up for sprint
Framily. Witrh seven members or more you can save up to $25 per line.Old and new Sprint member can be eligible for the
upgrade to Sprint Framily plan.
